Revi™ Implant

Visit the Revi™ Website for More Information

The Revi implant is a miniature device designed to address Urge Urinary Incontinence (UUI), a condition causing sudden and uncontrollable urges to urinate, often leading to leaks. Urology Specialists of Ohio has extensive experience in Revi, and has one of the highest case volumes of Revi procedures of any Urology group in the country.

How Does Revi Work?

  • Targeted Neuromodulation: A small implant placed near your ankle delivers gentle electrical pulses to the tibial nerve. This nerve plays a role in bladder control, and stimulation is believed to help regulate overactive bladder signals.
  • Wireless and Rechargeable: Unlike some other implants, Revi boasts a unique feature. It's battery-free within the body. A wearable activation unit uses external energy to wirelessly power the implant during therapy sessions. The wearable unit itself is rechargeable.
  • Patient-Controlled Therapy: You control when to activate the implant. Simply place the wearable unit around your ankle for a set stimulation period, typically once or twice daily. This allows for personalized therapy based on your needs and lifestyle.

Benefits of Revi for Urge Urinary Incontinence

  • Minimally Invasive: The implant is inserted during a single outpatient procedure using local anesthesia. This avoids potential side effects associated with major surgeries.
  • Reduced Risk of Complications: Studies suggest Revi offers comparable effectiveness to other UUI treatments with a potentially lower risk of side effects.
  • Proven Results: Clinical studies show that 8 out of 10 participants experienced a significant reduction in leaks after one year with the Revi implant.
  • Improved Quality of Life: By potentially reducing leaks and urgency, Revi may help you regain confidence and control over your daily activities.

  • Haven't found relief with conservative measures like lifestyle changes or pelvic floor muscle exercises.
  • Are not a good candidate for, or prefer to avoid, more invasive surgical procedures for UUI.
